I have to confess I’m a monochrome lover, but sometimes I feel like adding color and prints to my outfits. I know this can be challenging when you don’t know exactly what colors or patterns match.
The key is to add some accessories like bracelets, necklaces or a pair of printed shoes. And go from there adding extra touches. But always keeping it under the same gamma. I’m back in the city, which means my vacations are officially over. Leaving behind those beachy looks is time to get back in the city mood. And upgrade my outfits making them suitable for day/night time.
This outfit is just perfect for those days in which you don’t have time to change, and you have to go dinner straight from work (typical summer day). So by adding accessories or a statement piece to a monochrome look. We can make a completely different outfit.
These colorful bracelets are a great accessory for summer days. Especially when you’re wearing an all white outfit. And the long waistcoat gives some extra color keeping everything under the same color gamma.
I didn’t want to add too much drama to the look so I played it safe and wore nude shoes and a raffia clutch ( a must have this summer). This way all the attention goes to the waistcoat and the bracelets. Which was what I was aiming from the beginning.
Adding accessories and colors can be kind of hard sometimes because you don’t know when it is too much or when you should add more. What I normally do is try one colorful, dramatic piece and then go from there. See if that statement piece is enough or if you could also add some necklaces or bracelets or even a more dramatic pair of shoes.
Always remember to keep a balance, too much drama won’t make any of the pieces you’re wearing pop and that is just not what you’re looking for.
