Corduroy Suit: This season key trend

The 70s Retro Trend

The 70s are making a huge comeback (again!). This 70s warm and rigid fabric has long been the uniform of academics. But this autumn expect a major fashion makeover of the classic corduroy suit. Are you ready to give the corduroy suit a try?

Corduroy suits have been given a total makeover. As you will find them in every color from bright pink or yellow to burgundy, navy or black. Straight leg trousers, culottes or wide leg. Doesn’t matter what version you pick you will for sure be on trend this fall with a corduroy suit.

Last season we say designers like Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Prada, Nina Ricci, Mulberry, or Trussardi rock this trend on their runways. In a more masculine or feminine way. But what was clear is that corduroy suits have been a big thing last season and of course this fall.

What I like the most about this trend is the fact that corduroy has always been a menswear staple but thanks to fashion gender-bending it is now a big women’s fashion trend.

Another great thing about this fabric is how warm it is. If you live in a place where winters are really cold you should add some corduroy into your wardrobe trust me you won’t regret it.

Light Grey Blue suit for a winter mood

Let’s start with one of my favorite colors. Light grey blue is always a great choice when trying to achieve a minimalistic style but don’t feel like wearing black or plain grey.

This corduroy suit from Zara is a total winner this winter. With some very simple accessories, you can achieve a perfect minimalistic look which will make you the boss. A detailed orientated shirt and a super soft light grey-blue jumper coordinate perfectly with this suit. Add a straight lines bag and a pair of black boots for an outfit that will get you ready for work, dinner, date, or any kind of event.

The key to achieving a minimal look is to keep it under the same color gamma. No bright colors or mixing complementary colors. Keep it simple and you will get a winner combination.

Pink isn’t just a color, its an attitude

Are you a pink lover? Well, if you love pink especially bright pink this is just the perfect corduroy suit for you to wear this season. All you need to achieve the perfect 70s vibe look is a pair of pink tinted sunglasses, a small bag, white boots, and of course a roll up jumper so characteristic of the 70s. Now, if you want to take it to the next level. You can wear a white shirt on top of the roll-up jumper and you will have recreated a more sophisticated version of the 70s suit.

Brown is the new Black

One of my favorite colors for the season is brown in all its shades. So a brown corduroy suit sounds like a great idea. Playing with soft colors can result in great combinations that you never imagined worked so well together. Soft brown and soft blue has always been one of my favorite color combos.

You can keep it really simple by adding a suede brown bag and a pair of brown shoes. But you can also add a pair of animal printed boots to make your look pop and look gorgeous and in trend.

The always classic Black Suit

Lastly, we have the always on trend and fashionable black suit. But this time with a twist. A black corduroy suit. You can never go wrong with a black suit so why not keep it that way and add a dark grey sweater to keep it under the same gamma. And then have some fun with the pair of red shoes?

The great thing about black is that if you wear an all-black outfit you look super chic and sophisticated. But if you add some color to it you still look fashionable and stylish. It is so easy to combine that there are infinite ways of doing it.

My favorite is by having some fun with the shoes or bag. And layer some gold necklaces to keep it minimal and effortlessly.
