Summer in Lisbon
A city to Fall in love with over and over
Lisbon in Summer is a great destiny. Explore this city & enjoy the beach at the same time. Are you ready to fall in love with it?
If you’ve never visited this city it is about time. When I first went I have to admit I was a little bit hesitant of all the things I could think of going to Lisbon was not on my list. But as sometimes happens it really surprised me – in a good way. The people, the weather, the food, the really good food, and the cute shops and cafes found in almost every corner of this city.
Never thought I could fall in love with a city like I did when I first met Lisbon and since then I have visited it at least once a year. During the past years, I have probably gone every summer. Between Lisbon and Mallorca, my summer is packed with great beaches.
Lisbon is just the perfect balance between modern and classic. A “decadent” city which is having a makeover. But actually is that mix that makes this city so special. There is something in the air that makes it pure magic. Maybe it is the fact that they like keeping and restoring things instead of substituting them for new ones. Or that there are music brands in almost every bar playing live jazz or fados. Or maybe the fact that the food is amazing and really inexpensive. Don’t know exactly what it is but Lisbon is a city that won’t let you indifferent.
I love wandering around this city and finding new places. Live music in the middle of a street, cute little cafes. But my absolute favorite is finding bookstores with real antiques that you wouldn’t find in any other place. I’ve always loved old books full of stories I feel like you learn even more from them. Lisbon is the city for it, they keep everything. So finding stores with old books is pretty easy.
Also, since I mentioned how great the food in Lisbon is. I thought I should share with you some of my favorite places to eat when in Lisbon. Cafes and restaurants with lots of options. By the way, if you’re vegan or love vegan food Ao 26 is an amazing vegan restaurant that tends to get packed really quickly- Just keep it in mind if you’re thinking about going there.
But what to wear in Lisbon in Summer?
Before diving into the question of finding out what to wear in Lisbon. Let me tell you Lisbon in Summer is amazing. Not too hot nor too cold. Expect hot days and chilly nights which means you will be able to sleep with a cover something that it is clearly unimaginable in most of the south of Europe cities. So, it is very important that you through in a couple of jacket in your suitcase just in case. Because it is more than probable that you will get cold on the nights. Anyways, here is my what to wear in Lisbon in Summer.
I am a fellow minimalist, which means I tend to pack light most of the time – at least I try to- But during the summer this is more of a reality rather than a wish. Which is one of the reasons why I love traveling during the Summer. No need for big bags. But let’s be realistic. Who doesn’t ask themselves what to wear on a trip? Allow me to give you some tips when thinking about what to wear in Lisbon. Sneakers, lots of sneakers and flats or at least a pair of each. No need for high heels since Lisbon is known as the city of the hills and the floor is not the easiest one to walk on.
