Dream In Velvet
Why I have a Crush on Velvet this Season
I have always been a velvet lover. I have to confess I love wearing velvet no matter the season. But during fall/winter my obsession with this fabric kind of escalates to new levels.
The great thing about velvet is that it can be any outfit look more sophisticated and elegant. A velvet suit for a gala, event or even for work can look spectacular and is a great alternative to the classic black suit. A velvet skirt with a white oversized shirt or with a jumper for work is also a great combo. I could keep making combinations with velvet pieces and all of them would look amazing. You get the idea right?
So, as you can imagine I wanted to share with you one of my favorite velvet shirts. And how to wear it for a work day this fall/ winter. What I like the most about this velvet shirt is, of course, the fact that is velvet but also the shape of it which is really feminine and that is embroidered two of my favorite things combine in one piece. Velvet and embroidered.
I have always been kind of a minimalistic when dressing up. Especially during the week. I like to keep things simple and have more fun when dressing up for special occasions. I know you may think velvet and specifically embroidered velvet its everything but minimalistic. But combined with a pair of straight leg black trousers and a pair of brown high heels it creates the perfect minimalistic and simple look.
Don’t be scared of adding velvet to your daily outfits. It may seem like a fabric only meant to be wear at night but it is not and it looks fantastic on during the day outfits.
But if you’re not feeling it you can always add some accessories instead. For example a pair of velvet shoes of a velvet bag.
If you need some inspiration, here is how is my look with my favorite velvet shirt. I like buying pieces like this one that will make an outfit go from simple to feminine and sophisticated. Keep in mind that it is all in the details.
